    Course Outline

    This degree program is typically delivered over 3 years at full time. It is taught by staff who are active researchers, full time educators and/or part time staff who also work as consultants in the accounting or financial industries.

    Year 1

    Note that Business Environment and Introduction to Management modules are also taught in the Welsh language. All other modules must be taken in English.

    Learning & Teaching

    You’ll begin by exploring Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and Financial Management as well as Quantitative Techniques and the use of specialist software packages in year one. In year two you will study Investment Analysis, Portfolio and Risk Management, Corporate Governance, Business Law as well as Audit, Tax, Management and Financial Accounting techniques. In year three, you will choose whether you want to focus on Financial Statement Analysis, Taxation or Auditing.

    Aberystwyth Business School graduates have an excellent reputation amongst local and national recruiters, and have the option of exploring the university’s many work placement and internship schemes. Recent Graduates have become Accountant Technicians, Chartered Public Finance Accountants, Chartered Management Accountants, Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Accountants, Actuaries, Economists, Retail Bankers, Financial Traders, Auditors and Tax advisors.     Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 3 year BSc degree.

    All classes are taught in English (though some are available in Welsh as well), and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
