    Aberystwyth University’s BA in Law with Business and Management is a great way to prepare for a business career in any industry with a substantial regulatory framework, or on in which you’ll be interacting with lawyers and solicitors on a regular basis.

    The Law curriculum will see you getting a solid grounding in Public Law, European Law, and UK law in regards to Criminal, Contract and Tort issues. At more advanced levels you’ll look at the finer points of Land Law, the Law of Equity and the features and limitations of Trusts.

    On the Business and Management side you’ll learn the basics at first, and then expand your scope to include organisational behaviour, the way different firms serve the needs of their markets and ways to set (and follow) good business strategy. You’ll also explore leadership on the corporate level as well as the demands of social responsibility.

    If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness.     This degree program is typically delivered over 3 years at full time. It is taught by staff who are active researchers in their fields, 75% of whom are educated to a PhD level or the equivalent. Many have a PGCE qualification or have high level professional qualifications.

    Note that all year 1 modules are also available taught in the Welsh language.

    Learning And Teaching

    Most of your in class ‘contact time’ will be spent in seminars, tutorials and traditional lecture classes. All of the taught content is innovative and specifically developed to help you achieve your career goals.

    Lectures are where you’ll get your key concepts and the latest information relevant to the issues you’re studying. They will be recorded, and will be available to students on than basis as well. Tutorials and seminars will be smaller scale gatherings.

    Career Possibilities

    There are many ways you can go on from a BA in Law, Business and Management. Some students will go on to higher degrees. Some will seek out the training they need to become solicitors or barristers. Others will go into business and management, using their enhanced understanding of the law to further their commercial or industrial ambitions. Others still will go into the organisations which oversee and regulate national or international businesses.

    Entry & Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 3 year BA degree.

    All classes are taught in English (though some are available in Welsh as well), and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
