Course Summary
Art University Bournemouth’s MArch (Master of Architecture) program is a professional qualification, fully recognised by both the RIBA and the ARB. It will help you explore new avenues within architectural practice, most especially the concept of ‘Architectural Intervention’.
This course is effectively ‘Part 2’ in the three step process to becoming a professional architect. In it you’ll explore the role of drawings, texts and models in modern architecture. You’ll develop projects which have strong social, cultural and environmental narratives. You’ll work in an open, supportive and critical studio atmosphere which supports innovation, exploration and risk-taking. You’ll also learn how to collaborate on the professional and academic levels, formally and informally, and with a wide range of interdisciplinary input.
The course benefits from close links with RIBA Dorset and architectural practices all over the country. You’ll experience guest lectures form professional practitioners, the ARB and RIBA to keep you on top of developments within the field.
