    Course Outline

This BA program is delivered over 3 years at full time. However, part-time attendance is an option for many students.

    Year 1:

In the first year of the Creative Events Management BA program, you’ll learn the basic skills that will allow you to conceive, plan out and deliver live events, manage arts venues of all kinds, and generally ensure that creative and performance events succeed. You’ll also learn the legal framework in which you’ll be working.

    Year 2:

In this year, you’ll begin to learn more specialised skills, including working with partner organisations and delivering according to the terms of a client brief. You’ll learn about what different audiences want and need, and learn a great deal about the ‘business’ side of managing artists and creatives.

    Year 3:

In the final year of the program you’ll study Strategy and Management, and deliver both a Major Arts Project and an Independent Research Project which will inform your Dissertation.

    Learning And Teaching

AUB’s teaching methods vary dramatically from module to module, but they have a few things in common. You will of course attend lectures, but most of your class time will be spent gaining hands-on practical skills in events management. Each module will include interactive tutorial sessions, and many will give you free access to the Studio where you can work freely on your projects with the aid of staff and technicians.

    Career Possibilities

Your training and the real world experience you’ll develop organising actual events will prepare you to take on a challenging role as an event manager. AUB’s Careers and Employability Service will support you every step of the way.

Creative Events Management graduates typically do find roles running festivals or working at specific venues or for creative industry companies like ITV or Spotify. You can find graduates ‘in the field’ at events like The End of the Road Festival, Boomtown, Bestival, Secret Garden Party, and Wilderness, just to name a few.

    Entry & Credit

Successful completion will result in a 3 year BA degree.

Applicants must typically have achieved 3 A Levels at BBB or higher, which may not include General Studies. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
