    Course Summary

    Course Outline

    This BA program is delivered over 3 years at full time. However, part-time attendance is an option for many students.

    Year 1:

    Year 1 is all about exploring the fashion world, its furthest extensions and its deepest roots. You’ll come to understand the theories which inform fashion as an art as well as the practical skills which define it as a craft. You’ll also gain the perspective you need to look at fashion projects critically.

    Year 2:

    Over year 2 you’ll explore what innovation means in the context of fashion. Tis will include close looks at technical manufacturing techniques and design aesthetics, and come to understand the challenges of treating fashion as a business.

    Year 3:

    In your last year, you’ll narrow your studies down to a single specialism. You’ll produce a body of work directed at a particular fashion specialty, and will deliver your Final Major Project. You’ll aos complete the critical Personal Branding Unit.

    Learning And Teaching

    AUB’s teaching methods consist of lectures, tutorials and practical classes of many kinds. Lectures tend to be large scale but tutorials and practical sessions will be in smaller groups, and allow a great deal of interaction and personal attention.

    All of the modules are designed to encourage independent learning and the development of your own personal style. You will be individually responsible for your own learning, and for developing a reflective practice.

    A Fashion BA from AUB could open the door to a career with such well-known names as Nat-a-Porter, Ralph Lauren and Burberry or to an exciting start-up experience under your own brand.     Entry & Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 3 year BA degree.
