    Course Summary

Bangor University offers a BA in Business Management and Law that is the perfect choice for students planning a career in business, management, or entrepreneurship. It will not only teach you the core business skills you’ll need to proceed, it will also give you a deep understanding of how the law and applicable regulatory bodies affect business, industry, and the organisations which operate under them. It is also attractive to those who hope to manage inside the legal sector without necessarily becoming a practicing lawyer.

You’ll learn about business management, personnel management and marketing as well as aspects of contract law, commercial law, international law and more. You’ll come to understand the legal framework which defines much of modern business, and ensure that you innovate only in full compliance with that framework.

However, this is not a Qualifying Law Degree. If you wish to go on to practice law, you should consider one of Bangor’s LLB degree programs.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.

    Learning And Teaching

This is an example of a ‘joint honours’ degree program, combining some of the standard Business curriculum with that of Law. You’ll take a total of 120 units of modules each year (at full time), and complete your 3 year degree with 360 credits worth of modules. Some of these are a set ‘core’ curriculum, but many can be chosen from a wide range of electives which changes every year.

    Career Possibilities

The Bangor Business School boasts excellent postgraduate employability, especially in Management, Marketing, Trade and Export. A full 94.5% of undergraduates have either found suitable work or have entered higher level study within 6 months of graduation, according to the latest figures. Part of this is down to the school’s reputation for quality, but part is also due to the close connections the university has with employers in the area and all over the UK.

    Entry & Credit

Successful completion will result in a 3 year BA degree.

Applicants must typically have earned 104-120 tariff points from any Level 3 Qualification. This might include A Levels, BTEC, Irish Highers, or many others. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

Most classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.5 Overall would qualify.
