    Bishop Grosseteste University offers a very practical BA degree in Drama which is designed to not only teach you the art and craft of the actor, writer or other professional artist, but also to ensure that you have a wide range of transferrable skills which will make you a competitive applicant for nearly any type of career.

    You’ll learn to create, adapt, devise and develop dramatic works in a wide range of themes and contexts. You will indeed receive acting training based on the Stanislavski method, but you will also learn the skills associated with a wide selection of other careers in the world of drama.

    This program is typically delivered over three years at full time.

    Much of your learning time will be split between gaining academic analytical and critical skills and gaining the technical skills which could pave the way to a wide range of different careers in the world of drama.

    As well as your classes, you’ll have the opportunity to embark on at least one work-based placement experience during your time at BGU. This will improve your employability dramatically, as you’ll have real world working skills at your disposal as well as an academic education.

    Learning And Teaching

    BGU’s BA in Drama is typically delivered via lectures, seminars and tutorial sessions. In addition, you’ll gain vital real world skills in a working placement. 

    The lecture classes serve to introduce new ideas and content. Next, seminar sessions help you explore that material more deeply and to relate it to practical concerns. Finally, you can use the tutorials to interact directly with tutors, asking questions and cementing your comprehension of the course content.

    Entry & Credit

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An excellent IELTS score would qualify, for example.
