    Course Summary

A BSc degree in Chemistry from Brandon University will give you a wide range of career options, as it will give you highly sought after skills. These include the biochemical analysis of body systems and disease vectors, the creation of new materials and catalysts, drug design and organic synthesis and general chemical analysis.

In general, Chemistry is the study of matter, and how different types of matte interact on the atomic and molecular scales. Advances in Chemistry have made the plastics, agricultural fertilisers, food preservatives, and medicines we all depend on possible. They are bringing forth new advances in pollution prevention and possible ways to reduce or reverse climate change and global warming.

Chemistry is an experimental science. And this degree program will give you a great many basic and advanced laboratory skills in addition to a theoretical understanding of the field. You’ll be able to specialise in any of the 5 sub disciplines of Chemistry:

    • Physical
    • Organic
    • Inorganic
    • Biological
    • Analytical

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
