    Course Summary

Brandon University’s BA in Political Science begins with giving you a background understanding of local, regional, national and global politics, and them allows you to specialise in Canadian Politics, Comparative Politics, International Politics, or Political Theory. It also offers specialty courses in Canadian Constitutional Law, International Law and World Peace.

Political Science is really the study of political entities, and the people, institutions and processes that control so much of world society. To really participate in the democratic process, one needs to understand how decisions are made, how governments really operate and how individual citizens can offer their input to the process.

In addition to the academic content of the Political Science program, students will have access to extracurricular events and activities on the theme of politics. These include a range of guest speakers, the Manitoba Legislative Internship Program, the Annual Brandon University-Minot State University Peace Gardens Conference and the BU Politics Club.
