    Course Summary

Studying Management at the Master’s level means embarking on a research-based academic career which will prepare you well for PhD level studies or several different high level management career types.

Brock University’s MSc program in Management allows you to choose a focus area from among five specialties, Organization Studies, Operations & Information Systems Management, Marketing

    Finance or Accounting.

Graduate research work in this case will include completing a thesis. Your thesis will be supervised by a committee of three, one of whom will be a primary supervisor. As this department typically has student to faculty ratios as low as 2 to 1, close collaboration and mentorship is virtually guaranteed.

In addition, you may engage in additional research projects in cooperation with other students, often forming interdisciplinary teams across different focus areas and specialties. Many of these projects see active dissemination, including peer reviewed publication and presentation at international or national conferences.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
