    Course Summary

It is an exciting time for experts in International Business Law. This is a moment in history when globalisation is changing the ways organisations of all kinds and in all sectors do business. As the old ways fall aside, new laws are established on the local, national and international levels to guide and regulate new business models. As that happens, both regulators and businesses of all kinds need access to experts in the new International Business Laws that now apply, and will apply in the near future.

Cardiff Met offers a highly specialised LLM program with a focus on the law of International Business. You’ll study how the global economy connects organisations across borders and over whole continents. You’ll understand how transnational businesses now compete, and how they adapt to profit under a wide range of local, national and regional laws and customs. You’ll also learn how to approach international legal disputes from a truly interdisciplinary perspective.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
