    Cardiff University’s Biological Sciences MBiol program with Professional Training Year is designed to prepare students to become researchers or professional scientists.

    Year 1:

    This year you’ll study the biosciences generally.

    This year will focus on research culture and self-directed study. You will be able to select from 18 different modules to further establish your specialty.

    Cardiff’s Biological Sciences degree program uses research-led methods to ensure that every class is on the very cutting edge of their chosen field. You’ll have lectures, practical laboratory and field work classes, and attend a wide range of seminars, tutorials and workshops.

    Entry Credit

    Entry Requirements for UK and EU-nationals

    This MBiol program typically requires applicants to have achieved at least 3 A levels at AAA, with one A in Biology or Chemistry. Other accreditations are accepted, at an equivalent level.

    Entry Requirements for overseas (non-EU) students

    International students must be fluent in written and spoken English. This can be demonstrated by an excellent IELTS score or any of a range of tests listed here.

    International students must also have earned a qualification that is the equivalent of that required for UK and EU students.
