    Conestoga College’s Bachelor of Public Relations program was the first of its kind in Ontario, and only the 4th in the nation. It focuses on managing how an organisation communicates with its markets or the public more generally. It demands strategic thinking, diplomacy, and the ability to understand and covey complex issues on behalf of the organisation you represent. 

    This is a comprehensive 4 year Honours degree which will give you the sills you need to build an exciting and lucrative career in marketing communication, investor relations, media relations, employee communications, marketing, social media management or a wide range of specialise communication roles.

    Like most of Conestoga’s degree programs, this one ensures that you gain real world skills through paid co-operative work terms and live projects. It will give you vital real world experience, and make you a more attractive candidate for your first few roles than an applicant without such experience.

    If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness.     Learning And Teaching

    Conestoga College’s Bachelor level programs are delivered primarily through lectures, computer workshops and seminar sessions, and will also feature a great deal of project work.

    It is a full 4 year Honours degree with co-operative educational elements, and takes great advantage of Conestoga’s focus on real world skills and problem solving techniques. The college can offer additional support for written English, numeracy and academic skills, or for any special needs you may have.

    Career Possibilities

    This degree is a fine way to prepare yourself for an entry level public relations role in a wide range of private, public or not for profit sector organisations. It will give you the research ability, the fine written and verbal communication skills and the overall business ability you’ll need to excel in this field. Alternatively, some recent graduates of the program have gone on to study at the post graduate level.

    Entry & Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 4 year Honours degree.

    Applicants must typically have a basic secondary education including maths content, or the international equivalent. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.   

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. A good score on the CELT, IELTS or TOEFL would qualify, for example.
