    Course Summary

A BSc in computer Science from De Montfort University will equip you to enter into any of a number of thriving industries or commercial fields as a qualified IT professional. You don’t even need to have a background in computing or computer science! The first year of this program is designed to be approachable for nearly any student, and yet challenging enough to keep the interest of those who have studied the subject extensively.

You’ll learn the mathematics and theory which underpins this field, of course, but you’ll also gain a great deal of practical experience in programming, coding, and designing the hardware and software systems in which tomorrow’s world will depend.

This degree is fully accredited by the BCS – the UK’s Chartered Institute for IT Professionals, issued on behalf of the Engineering Council. Successfully completing this course meets all academic requirements for registry as a Chartered IT Professional.
