    Course Summary

A Bachelor of Media Arts (BMA) degree with a major in 3D Computer animation is the ideal way to prepare yourself for a career in this exciting and highly visual creative field. You’ll study digital media generally and 3d animation in great depth. After you’ve found your feet on the technical and academic levels, you’ll be able to experiment with new mediums for your arts and to participate in faculty research projects. You’ll also earn hands on animation production experience.

Every major offered by the Emily Carr University of Art and Design begins with the same core Foundation Year content. This foundation year includes core skills for every creative discipline, and will teach you quite a bit about art and design both in the classroom and in the studio. You will be encouraged to make your final choice of major only after getting a grounding in all of the subjects in which you could choose to specialise.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
