Course Summary
Falmouth University’s BA in Animation and Visual Effects is a great way to learn the art and technology involved in one of the UK’s fastest growing industries. Not only will it make you familiar with a wide range of 2D, 3D, digital, stop motion and unconventional special effects and animation techniques, it will give you experience working on actual feature films.
The film industry is heavily represented on campus, with visiting lecturer and honorary fellows including names like David Sproxton and Peter Lord (founders of Aardman Studios), Barry Purves (BAFTA and Oscar nominated director of King King), Matthew Tinsley (VFX for several recent James Bond movies), as well as noted academics like Paul Wells.
This degree program allows you to specialise your education in either Visual Effects or Animation, depending on the elective modules you select in years 2 and 3. You also have the option to study abroad as a ‘sandwich’ year.
