Course Summary
Glasgow Caledonian University’s BSc in Computing has been created in consultation with local and national industry leaders in order to produce the kind of graduates that the IT and computing industries demand in ever higher numbers.
You’ll learn the foundations of computing and IT in years 1 and 2, allowing you to choose a specialisation to study in years 3 and 4. Those students who already have training or experience in the field may consider entering the program at year 2 or 3.
This course also conveys a wide range of ‘general employability’ skills which will make you more competitive as a job applicant. These include leadership skills, problem solving, team work, communication and the option of paid work placement or overseas study later in the program.
You should seriously consider placement or study abroad, as either will give you greater insight into this exciting, globally relevant field as well as a substantial advantage over Computing graduates without such experience.
