The creative industries are expanding dramatically all over the world. That means there is a shortage of talented, qualified people who know how to manage artists. After all, someone needs to know how to deal with the unique challenges that face organisations ranging from creative micro-businesses to world renowned fine arts institutions.

In addition to traditional class-based content, this BA program gives you access to guest lectures from the people who manage the most recognisable organisations in the art world, as well as arranging field trips to cultural organisations across London, the UK and the world. This will ensure that you are prepared to manage for the film, television, software, music and other industries.

    • Managing Arts Organisations and Cultural Businesses
    • Professional Practice in Arts Organisations and Cultural Businesses

These could include different learning and teaching methods. Your assessment in years 1 and 2 will be based on exams and coursework, and only on coursework for year 3.

You will develop a great many skills which are crucial to Arts Management, but can also easily be applied to other careers and industries, especially those which touch upon cultural policy or the creative industries. These include expertise in copyright law, cultural tourism and diplomacy, audience development and funding systems. Recent graduates of this program have gone on to work with organisations like Samsung, Sadler’s Wells, Tate and the Royal Opera House.
