Course Summary
All over the world farmers, agribusinesses and government bodies struggle to balance environmental protection and the demands of a growing human population. That creates a need for people with the training and skills that it takes to understand and manage complex agricultural systems, land use situations and related matters.
Harper Adams’ Agroecology course gives you training in the science behind the big agricultural and ecological issues as well as the tools you’ll need to balance the competing needs of resource conservation, land management and food production. You’ll learn about the role of government and oversight bodies in ensuring outcomes that are acceptable to all parties, as well as the roll of food security policy on a global scale.
This course is specifically designed to complement Harper Adams’ other ecologically-oriented degree programs, including Weed Science, Entomology and Integrated Pest Management. You do not need to have graduates in one of these fields to apply, but you will need a good honours degree in a related field.
