    Course Summary

A combined BA in International Business and International Relations can open new doors for your career. It is designed to give you not just an understanding of management theory but the practical skills you need to manage people, organisations and specific projects on a global scale. It is a heavily multidisciplinary program which allows you to explore your own specialties and interests.

You’ll come to understand how the core concepts of organisational behaviour underpin both disciplines, on the economic, political and personal scales. You’ll learn the core concepts of both international business and international relations, but more importantly you’ll learn how they relate and synergise. You’ll begin to see how economics and politics are deeply linked, and how no understanding of one could be complete without the other. This includes both the historical and political background behind modern business decisions and the specific management skills you’ll need to operate in global markets.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
