    King’s College London offers a unique and very well-respected specialist LLM degree, focusing on International Business Law. Taught by a reputed academic team, this course explores the various legal issues which surround international business, trade and banking in the modern global economy.

    It will provide a deep level of expertise both on international business law from a transactional perspective, as well as in terms of litigation, arbitration and other methods of dispute settlement.

    Course Outline

    This is an LLM, and it will convey a great many practical skills upon its students. You will learn about the law of international finance and that of international trade. You’ll explore how international business disputes arise, and how they are resolved. In terms of resolution, you’ll study international commercial & investment arbitration, and the litigation of international business transactions.

    As this course is practice focused, you will also take several comparative law modules. These will include the international and comparative law of trusts as well as transactional and comparative law in terms of both finance and commerce. You will also study the regulation of global trade by the world Trade Organisation and many aspects of the taxation of businesses which trade internationally.

    In your last term you will be required to submit a dissertation or an extensive research essay.

    Learning & Teaching

    This is a specialist LLM program, and follows a fairly traditional format in that regard. In your first 2 terms you will take a variety of in-depth taught modules. In your third term, typically over May and June, your progress in each module will be assessed. This will typically be by written examination, but in some cases assessment will be by essay.

    Career Possiblities

    This is a very practice-oriented course, and the majority of graduates do go on to secure roles in this field. Ultimately, you will have a highly specialised skillet that will be very much in demand by many different organisations.

    Many Graduates find places in public sector organisations such as the UN, the European Commission or the European Central Bank. Others work with commercial organisations as tax advisors, investment banking analysts, accountants or in house counsel. Still others find their home in academia.

    Entry Requirements for UK and EU-nationals

    King’s College London’s International Business Law LLM program requires an undergraduate degree in law (or with at least 70% law content) with a high 2:1 Honours award or a very near equivalent.

    Entry Requirements for overseas (non-EU) students
