    Course Outline

    This program is typically delivered over three years at full time.

    In the first year of the program you’ll engage with site-based projects and learn the proper context of design work. You’ll learn to draft, make models and to research architectural history. In the later years of the program you’ll work independently in studio groups. There you’ll deliver specific design projects of varying lengths as well as on several individual design projects which will be due each semester.

    Learning & Teaching

    Kingston University’s architectural courses are delivered both in class an in the architectural studio. You’ll learn academic and technical skills in lectures, seminars and tutorial sessions, but it is in the practical environment of the studio where you’ll learn your real design skills. You’ll explore drawing, casting, charcoal rendering as well as modern CAD and computer-based rendering techniques. Your progress will be assessed via presentations, critiques, essays, projects and portfolio reviews.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a full BA degree.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no section scoring less than 5.5 would qualify, for example.
