    Course Summary

Kingston University’s BSc program in Psychology is designed to be extremely approachable, even to those who didn’t think they had the A Levels to enter into a BSc course or for those who may have been out of formal education for some time. Not only does it begin with the assumption that you will have no formal training in psychology or any related field, it includes an optional foundation year which can lower the minimum UCAS Tariff score dramatically. This ensures that nearly any student who wishes to lay the foundation for a successful professional career can do so.

You’ll learn to use the latest psychological testing equipment and study the finer points of experimental design. You’ll be able to select optional modules in order to choose your own specialty, and experience actual working conditions in a range of real life environments, including many schools, clinics and hospitals which work closely with the university.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
