    Course Summary

Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s BSc in Biology is ideal for students who wish to know as much as possible about the life sciences and how they apply to the world around us. It will see you coming to understand life at the atomic and molecular level all the way up to the relationships that define ecosystems ad entire biomes. It will allow you to better understand the evolution of life as determined by evidence-based scientific principles and your own observations.

You will come to understand organisms both on their own and as interconnected parts of diverse biological systems, ad to use that knowledge to further academics, business and industry – depending on your specialty.

The degree program includes opportunities to explore the application of the life sciences locally, as well as several different co-operative and experiential learning options. Some of the courses may even include a service-learning component, where you will apply what you have learned in the Vancouver Metro Area.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
