    Course Summary

    Leeds Beckett University’s MSc degree program in Advanced Engineering Management can help you forge a career as a leader of en engineering program, department or team. It will give you the skills you need to handle complex process control issues and initiate new product development. You’ll also gain experience with rapid prototyping.

    You’ll learn to apply the latest management systems and other advanced technological tools to the issues today’s engineers face. You’ll be able to respond to shifts in global markets by encouraging agile, rapid product development cycles. You’ll learn to analyse problems and test your innovative solutions using advances simulations of real world automation and management systems.

    You’ll initially focus on process control issues in Semester One, then move on t new product development modules in Semester Two. The program can be taken as a full MSc degree, or in an abbreviated fashion as a PgDip or PgCert as outlined below.

    Course Outline

    This degree program is typically delivered over a single year of full time study.

    You have several options when enrolling in this course, and there are three levels of certification which can be awarded. Completing at least 60 credits worth of the modules listed below will qualify you for a Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) in Advanced Engineering Management. If you complete all of the 120 credits of modules listed but do not complete a dissertation, you’ll qualify for a Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) in Advanced Engineering Management. Finally, if you complete the Disseration requirement as well as the 120 credits, you can exit with the full MSc degree.

     

    You may change your intended exit point at any time during the program.

    Learning And Teaching

    Leeds Beckett University’s Advanced Engineering Management MSc program is delivered primarily through lectures, computer workshops and seminar sessions.. Some of the modules listed above may be available as distance learning or blended learning programs. Though such modules will include less face-to-face time with the course tutor, many educational technologies are available to provide a fully interactive learning experience.

     

    The university can offer additional support in terms of your written English, numeracy and academic skills, or for any special needs you may have.

    Entry & Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 1 year MSc degree.

    Applicants must typically have earned a second class honours degree or the international equivalent. However, working experience will also be considered. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no section scoring less than 5.5 would qualify, for example.
