    Course Summary

Leeds Trinity University offers a unique and rewarding challenge for students interested in learning the scientific principles that underpin strength training and athletic performance. Getting a BSc in Sport and Exercise (with a focus on either Sport and Exercise Sciences or Strength and Conditioning) will prepare you to take your place in either of these rapidly advancing industries.

You’ll learn not only on the theoretical level but also the practical. You’ll work directly with athletes of all kinds at the university’s Sports science Laboratory, as well as in the Strength and Conditioning Suite.

This program has two equally attractive degree pathways, and you needn’t decide which one to specialise in until the end of your first year. This will allow you to explore both at the basic level before making such an important decision. From year 2 onwards, your exact curriculum will focus on either Strength and Conditioning or on Sport and Exercise Sciences. Both pathways result in a BSc award.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.

    Learning & Teaching

Leeds Trinity University’s approach to learning and teaching begins with instilling a sense of professional responsibility, professionalism and confidence in their students. They see learning as an inherently collaborative process, and seek to engage students in their own learning. Practical skills are as important as academic ones, and you’ll learn as much in the lab and in the field as in the classroom. You’ll be prepared for a wide range of roles upon graduation.

    Career Possiblities

Leeds Trinity University’s BSc degree program in Sport and Exercise Sciences is highly employment focused. Not only will you have established a specialty in either Sport and Exercise Sciences or Strength and Conditioning, you’ll have the professional skills you’ll need to seek out the best roles in either field. Recent students have taken roles in many industries, but many have stayed in academia long enough to gain MAs in Sport Management or MScs in Heath and Wellbeing.
