    Course Outline

    This degree program is delivered over 3 years. Note that depending on your choice of modules, you can qualify for exemption from ACCA testing.

    Year 1

    In the first year you’ll learn about the conceptual and regulatory frameworks that define financial accounting, as well as building practical business skills. You’ll also learn the maths and quantitative methods you’ll need to study higher level modules in years 2 and 3.

    Year 2

    Here you’ll explore specific applications of accounting and finance principles, lean more about conducting research, and learn the law that underlies the way business is done in England and Wales.

    Year 3

    Learning & Teaching

    Modules in Liverpool Hope’s Accounting and Finance degree program are typically delivered as either large lecture classes, smaller interactive seminars or as highly focused tutorials. You will also meet with your assigned tutor on a one on one basis once per week. Your progress will be assessed based on your coursework, in exams taken at the end of each year, and of course based on the research and writing of your dissertation.

    Accountancy and Finance graduates can look forward to relatively high starting salaries and a fast track to a responsible position in whatever organisation they decide to join. Participating in one of the university’s Work Placement or SALA programs will further enhance your employability.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 3 year BA degree.

    Applicants must typically have achieved 3 A Levels at BBC or higher. International qualifications are also accepted, and can be found here.

    International students must be fluent in written and spoken English. This can be demonstrated by an IELTS score of 6.0 or better overall, 6.0 in reading and writing, and with no other sub-section scoring less than 5.5.
