    Course Summary

Psychology is the study of how people behave, learn, think and feel. You can join in this study, with the help of the university’s advanced research laboratories. These include a recently completed Colour Vision lab, an EEG lab and many other similar facilities.

A BSc in Psychology from Liverpool Hope University gives you a research oriented perspective. Each module is delivered by one or more highly respected academics, many of whom are currently researching at the cutting edge of this dynamic discipline.

You’ll learn about the sciences which underpin this study and the theoretical perspective that they give. You’ll also develop the kind of practical ‘applied psychology’ skills you’ll need to take a commercial or industrial role in this very broad discipline. You’ll also learn quite a bit about quantitative analysis and statistics, skills which are in high demand in a host of industries not immediately associated with psychology.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
