    Course Summary

A BSc degree in Biology from Liverpool John Moores University is a great way for even those without biology or Science A Levels to learn the wonders of life science at the same time they learn the practical laboratory skills which could see them founding successful careers in a number of biology-related industries. The option of a foundation year and the availability of one on one support sessions with a dedicated personal tutor make a BSc in biology a real option for nearly anyone.

You’ll have several opportunities to explore careers, with options of a 135 hour work placement or a full 12 month paid placement opportunity with one of the university’s partner organisations. Either will help you translate your academic skills and laboratory techniques into real world work experience, and make your first few jobs that much easier to find. The fact that it is a paid position is nice as well.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
