    Course Summary

The MComp degree offered by Liverpool John Moores University is a fantastic way to get the skills and practical expertise you’ll need to enter a career in one of the fastest growing fields in the world. This is a very career-focused program which makes excellent use of LJMU’s cutting edge computing facilities and IT labs.

The program is noteworthy in that it allows you to gain a Master’s degree without actually applying to a Master’s program. As it is a combined degree you apply for the bachelor’s level program and continue on to a final year of Master’s level modules.

The university has close ties with many of the largest regional employers in this field, including HM Treasury, Lloyds TSB, Merseyside Police and IBM. This is extremely helpful, as the program includes an optional year in paid work placement at a partner organisation. A placement year at IBM could be a watershed moment in your career!

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
