    Course Summary

    The MEng degree program in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from MMU is designed to give you the scientific and technical expertise you’ll need to build a career in Engineering. You’ll learn the scientific principles behind modern electrical and electronic engineering, but also the techniques engineers use to solve problems. Most importantly, you’ll deliver group and individual projects from year one, gaining the project management skills employers in industry demand.

    This is an integrated MEng program is delivered over 4 years at full time, and includes both Bachelor’s and Master’s level modules. The MEng program cumulates with a Major Group Project. This will see you take a place on an interdisciplinary team of students, resolving a real world engineering problem and presenting your results. In addition, you may take a year in industrial placement between years 2 and 3. This is highly advisable, as it will make you much more attractive to employers of all kinds

    Learning & Teaching

    Though you will spend a great deal of time in the lab or working on practical projects as part of your MEng degree, you’ll also have a full schedule of lectures, seminars and tutorials. You’ll also send a great deal of time in independent study – 3 to 4 hours for every hour spent in class. Your progress will be assessed based on your coursework, and to a slightly lesser extent on your end of term examination results.

    Career Possiblities

    Engineering graduates at all levels are in short supply scross the UK. That means Engineering has the lowest unemployment rate of any career in the UK and among the highest starting salaries. MEng graduates of a respected institution like MMU are I even heavier demand. Recent graduates have gone to work for consultancies, the nuclear fuels industry, for companies supplying water and power needs and for manufacturers of all kinds.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 4 year integrated MEng degree.

    Applicants must typically have GCSEs in English, Science and Mathematics at C (4) or higher. The full list of national and international qualifications accepted can be found here.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in the English language.
