Automotive engineers work to make the next generation of cars, trucks and other wheeled vehicles more efficient, cleaner, safer, faster and more affordable. Large UK and international manufacturers like Jaguar Land Rover, Honda and Nissan require large numbers of Automotive Engineering graduates every year.

You’ll learn to tackle the particular challenges of the automotive industry in a practical manner, and to meet the growing demand for sustainability and environmental friendliness within the industry.

A 5-year MEng from Northumbria University meets all of the academic requirements for registry as a Chartered Engineer. It is fully accredited by the Engineering Council through the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and exempts you from all other academic requirements. You’ll be particularly attractive to a wide range of employers as a new hire, as you’ll already have a master’s level education behind you.
