    Course Summary

Nottingham Trent University’s BSc in Architectural Technology is a brilliant way to begin your career in the profession of Architecture. You’ll develop the skills of an Architectural Technologist through study, participating in projects with real industrial clients and through attending NTU’s Technology Design studio.

The Architectural Technology program at NTU is the only such program to be ‘triple accredited’ by the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), the CIAT (Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists) and the CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building). As such, it will open a great many doors for you on graduation.

This course includes a year in industrial placement. This will give you a lot more than mere hands-on experience – it will help you cement your theoretical understanding with real world professional skills. Though technically optional, it is not an opportunity to be missed.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.

NTU can boast an enviable 96% employment rate after 6 months, including those students who have gone on to pursue higher degrees (see the 2016-2017 DLHE).
