    Course Summary

OCAD University’s MDes in Inclusive Design was created to produce the next generation of global leaders what is becoming a very important field all over the world – promoting more inclusive design in the ICT (Information and Computer Technology) industry.

Inclusive Design is design which makes goods, services, information or resources more readily available to the full range of people in a society, including those with differing needs in terms of age, culture, language, physical ability or emotional needs.

You’ll explore arts and culture, design for built environments, digital media and ICT systems, graphic and communication design and public sector policy and administration. You’ll pay special attention to the healthcare sector in particular.

As you study this fascinating and ever changing subject, you’ll engage in intensive, directed study in the classroom and in the studio, attend seminars on both research methods and critical theory, and deliver a major studio project and a supporting analysis.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
