    Course Summary

OCAD University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program in Sculpture and Installation is a great way to turn your interest in making, transforming or adding context to three dimensional objects and representations into a successful career or artistic practice.

You’ll be able to explore several areas of practice before specialising, including bronze casting, sculpting, plastic and metal fabrication, mould making and wood working.

You’ll also have many opportunities to gain experience doing commercially oriented work in a real world context. Placements are available, as are exhibitions and other means of getting the exposure you’ll need to forge a successful career.

Sculpture and Installation work is a highly specialised field, and you’ll need to find a way to distinguish yourself from the crown to build a well-regarded practice. A degree from a well-respected university like the Ontario College of Art and Design can be a big boost to your employability, especially in your early career.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
