    Course Summary

OSU’s Master of Science in Anatomy degree program is the perfect pathway to a PhD, a professional degree such as a DPT, DDS or MD, or to a career in research.

You can choose one of two Anatomy MSc degree tracks:

    • The Non-Thesis track has a heavier course-based module load, and includes a comprehensive examination as its final requirement.
    • The Thesis track will have a lighter module load, but will instead see you producing your own original research and producing a thesis.

You will study all of the major sub-fields of Anatomy during your 2 years in the program – Neuroanatomy, Embryology, Histology and Gross Anatomy. You will also be able to choose between a range of advanced electives focusing on a specialty of your choosing.

OSU’s Master’s level Business programs are known for their strong academic rigor, their close ties to the university’s world changing research and their commitment to producing the researchers and specialists of tomorrow.

    Learning And Teaching

The Ohio State University’s Master’s degree programs combine traditional and more innovative, interdisciplinary techniques in every course of study they offer. As an OSU student, you can expect to attend both large lecture classes and smaller interactive seminars.

The Division of Anatomy also relies heavily on laboratory time, and you can expect to take part in human and animal dissection at various times over the course of your academic and professional careers.

    Career Possibilities

This degree program is highly employment oriented. Biomedical Science graduates generally are qualified to take up a wide range of different careers, and many in fact go into professional programs to become doctors, surgeons, dentists and other health specialists.

Many students choose to stay on to the PhD level, or enter a PhD program at another of the world’s fine universities. This prepares them to practice at the highest levels of the discipline, or to do the kind of ground-breaking research that defines the discipline of anatomy itself.

    Entry & Credit

Successful completion will result in an MSc degree.

To enter OSU’s Master of Science in Aantomy, you’ll need to have a solid Baccalaureate level education in the Life Sciences or a similar topic. International degrees and qualifications can be accepted.

All classes are taught in English, and international students from non-English speaking countries may be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
