    Oxford Brookes University’s Honours BSc in Business and Finance teaches you about business and finance in today’s complex, global economic environment.     Course Outline

    This is a 3 year program for most students. One of its key features is that you will be able to develop your own values and awareness by choosing optional modules which fit your interests and intended career path.

    Year 1

    In your first year you’ll largely focus on business and management issues. You’ll study business in the international context, and to applying theory to real world events and organisations. You’ll also gain problem solving, communication and IT skills.

    Year 2

    Year 2’s core modules will build on those you’ve taken in year one. You’ll enhance your employability skills and prepare to meet the challenges of entering the job market. In addition, you’ll be able to select form a wide range of elective modules.

    Year 3

    In your final year, you’ll work on group and individual projects, becoming more knowledgeable and better able to critique what you learn.

    Learning & Teaching

    Oxford Brookes’ Business School believes in challenging, exciting learning methods. You’ll learn in class settings, but you’ll also analyse case studies of real world organisations and events, work out solutions to real business challenges and present your analyses and suggestions to diverse audiences and stakeholders.  Your progress will be assessed based on coursework and final exams. You’ll get feedback throughout the program, in writing, in recorded audio and face to face.

    Career Possiblities

    Your employability will be enhanced both by specific professional skills modules and by the opportunity to spend a full year in work placement between years 2 and 3. This will not only give you real world work and leadership experience, it might land you your first job offer. Oxford Brookes has been able to arrange placements with organisations like PayPal, Nestle, GlaxoSmithKline, Ernst & Young, Dyson, IBM, BMW and Aldi.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 3 year BSc degree.

    Applicants must typically have achieved 112 UCAS tariff points, or the international equivalent. Beyond that, a wide range of qualifications are accepted.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
