    Course Summary

    Plymouth Marjon University’s BSc in Business is unique in that it incorporates an integral foundation year, making it accessible to nearly anyone, even those who never thought they would qualify for a BSc degree. Not only will you study finance, accounting, marketing and human resource management, you’ll develop your business skills in the real world.

    This program also includes Chartered Management Institute membership for all graduates, as well as a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management from that organisation.

    The foundation year will serve several purposes. First it will give you an introduction to studying and taking tests at a university level, and get you used to life at Marjon. It will also introduce basic business theory and practical content, providing your first tastes of hands on business experience. It is perfect for those with experience but no degree awards, or for those who are returning to education after a long absence.

    If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness.     Learning & Teaching

    Plymouth Marjon University uses fairly standard teaching methods. These include the familiar modes of large, formal lectures, smaller and more interactive seminars, practical skills workshops and other classroom activities. However, there is also a great deal of emphasis on gaining practical, real world skills. Your progress will be assessed via project work, presentations, reflective portfolios and business simulations. There are no exams.

    Career Possiblities

    More than 95% of Marjon’s graduates find suitable work (or enter into higher degree programs) within 6 months of successfully completing their degrees.

    This degree has the potential to earn you positions with a wide range of organisations in the public, private and not for profit sectors. You might take on roles such as Business Owner, Social Media Coordinator, Marketing Officer, Business Development Manager or Management Consultant on thr national r international levels.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 4 year BSc degree.

    Applicants must typically have earned 48 UCAS Tariff points, 3 A Levels at EEE or better, or the international equivalent. The full list of qualifications which are accepted can be found here.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.0 or better overall would qualify, for example.
