    Learning & Teaching

Plymouth Marjon University uses fairly standard teaching methods. These include the familiar modes of large, formal lectures, smaller and more interactive seminars, practical skills workshops and other classroom activities. However, there is also a great deal of emphasis on gaining practical, real world skills.

Towards that end, you’ll take master classes and visit local schools as well as engaging in working placements in the community. Your teaching will not be assessed, letting you explore different modes.

    Career Possiblities

More than 95% of Marjon’s graduates find suitable work (or enter into higher degree programs) within 6 months of successfully completing their degrees.

You’ll have the option if transferring directly into a PG Certification program for Early Years Teaching, School Direct or PGCE, any of which will allow you to teach professionally in the UK. Other options include roles in educational management, welfare, working with young people, community education or more informal education, such as the kind provided at cultural events or tourist destinations.

    Entry Credit

Successful completion will result in a 3 year BA degree.

Applicants must typically have earned 96 UCAS Tariff points, 3 A Levels at CCC or better, or the international equivalent. The full list of qualifications which are accepted can be found here.

All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.0 or better overall would qualify, for example.
