    Course Summary

Queen Margaret University’s BSc degree program could be your ticket to a challenging but rewarding career in any of a number of fields related to the study of human biology.

Early on, you’ll gain a solid grounding in the biological sciences generally. These modules will include both theory and practice, as you gain valuable laboratory skills and a knowledge of scientific statistics.

Year three will focus more on specific areas of human biology and how the human body operated both when healthy and when diseased. You’ll begin to specialise at this point by selecting from a number of optional modules in addition to your core curriculum.

If you take this as a BSc with Honours, year 4 will see you carrying out your own research project with the support of academic staff. Again, you’ll have access to an optional module in year 4, but this will be much more advanced.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
