    Course Summary

Robert Gordon University offers a BSc degree in Construction management that is highly focused on the production and operational issues that the construction industry faces on large building or infrastructure projects. Of course, you’ll also be able to select optional or elective modules in order to refine your own specialty or specialties within the field of Construction Management, better preparing you for your chosen career pathway.

This is a very practical, employability-oriented course. In fact, it was rated #1 for the employability of its Building graduates in Scotland, and #3 in all of the UK by the Guardian University League Tables in 2018.

You’ll study the essential elements of construction and of both personnel and project management. You’ll also learn very specific skills relating to managing a construction project from inception and planning through to completion, as well as the strategies you’ll need to construct and/or demolish aspects of the built environment in an economically and environmentally sustainable manner.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
