    Course Summary

Robert Gordon University’s Aberdeen Business School offers a BA program in International Tourism Management which is very well respected nationally and across Europe. Not only will you earn a double accreditation as part of your BA (Hons) degree, you’ll have access to real world experience through industry placements. You’ll also have the option to study abroad, further increasing your familiarity with at least one more international culture.

You’ll learn about business management in the general sense, but you’ll also study management in the tourism industry in particular. You’ll become familiar with the management challenges which face tourist-oriented businesses such as travel agencies, music venues, leisure centres, hotels and tourist attractions, as well as those that face the events, convention and business travel industries.

You’ll participate in a range of industry-facing projects throughout this 4 year degree, as well as travelling and attending industry conferences. This will not only familiarise you with the industry, it will help you begin building contacts within it.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
