    An MA in Media Management from the Royal Holloway University of London will explore the exciting world of marketing and managing the production of creative projects in digital media and television.     Course Outline

    Core Modules:

    • Structures of Broadcasting

    This module looks at the various types of broadcasting, especially the commercial and public service models. It also addresses programming sales and co-production, in the context of international and global programming distribution.

    • Production Study 1

    Here you’ll learn about the challenges of producing a major UK television series, especially in terms of scheduling, funding, budgeting, organisation and management. You’ll become familiar with audience profiles and meet with writers and directors of ongoing series.

    • Digital Media Marketing: Mobile, Social Media & Strategy

    This module gives you an understanding of the various marketing practices that have arisen from the mobile technology revolution. You’ll also learn to assess marketing strategies and campaigns critically in a variety of contexts.

    • Media Industries Report

    This will see you investigating the issues managers face in the creative and media industries. You’ll learn to interpret and analyse industry report data and to present your findings formally. You will have the aid of a supervisor to support you throughout this module.

    Learning & Teaching

    The Royal Holloway University of London’s Media Management MA program includes an intensive mix of practical equipment exercises, essays and other coursework, independent study, problem solving exercises, critical analysis and writing, oral presentations, master classes and of course traditional seminars and lectures. In addition, you will deliver either a media research project or a substantial dissertation.

    Entry Requirements for UK and EU-nationals

    Royal Holloway’s Media Management program typically requires applicants to have earned a 2:1 or better undergraduate honours degree. In addition, applicants must submit an essay of not more than 2000 words on the subject of the changes in media management over the last 5 years. Details can be found here.

    Entry Requirements for overseas (non-EU) students                         

    International students must be fluent in written and spoken English. This can be demonstrated by an excellent IELTS score or one of several other testing options.
