    Course Summary

Royal Roads University offers an MA degree in Educational Leadership and Management, a two year Master of Arts program which is intended to help those with an existing career in education to develop a better reflective understanding of the latest research in improving school and educational effectiveness.

You’ll learn exactly what an administrator or teacher in a leadership role within a K-12 educational institution needs to excel in the role. It is fully Teacher Qualification Service approved, and will help you have a positive impact on your own school system.

This program is delivered almost exclusively remotely. It uses the university’s preferred ‘Blended Learning’ model where there is a single intensive 2 week residency period beginning in July not August followed by extensive periods of remote learning. This is particularly convenient for students who are already working in this (or any other) field, as the distance learning components can typically be attended to around existing work, family or personal commitments.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
