    Course Summary

Studying the biological sciences at the Master’s of Science level means exploring the complexity and diversity of living things and the complex, evolving relationships hidden throughout the world around us. This program will give you a deep theoretical understanding of life processes as well as the kind of practical research, communication and critical thinking skills you’ll need to make advances in the life sciences. Of course, you’ll also gain a wide range of highly transferrable professional skills as well.

You’ll be able to explore your own interests by selecting specialty modules, and apply what you’ve learned to contemporary issues and situations. You’ll enjoy a hands-on teaching approach as well as many opportunities to lean in real world settings far beyond the laboratory or lecture hall. You can further customise your career potential by instead taking the Master of Pest Management or Master of Environmental Toxicology degrees offered by the same department.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
