    Course Summary

Climate change is inextricably linked with the use of energy – for transportation, in industry, or for heating, cooling and lighting our homes and places of business. However, a truly comprehensive and universally accepted approach to climate and energy policy has never been achieved. In this program you’ll look at in depth case studies from both the Northern and Southern hemispheres to better understand how energy and climate policies are made, implemented and all too often ignored.

An MSc in Global Energy and Climate Policy from SOAS is intended for students hoping to build careers as professionals in the fields of energy and/or climate policy. It is designed to give tomorrow’s executives, politicians and regulators a realistic, scientifically backed and economically realistic understanding of these complex issues. You’ll come to understand the scientific background, the economic necessities and modern, statistical methods of risk assessment. You’ll also take training in negotiation and media communication to round out your legal and policy skills.
