    Learning & Teaching

SOAS’s History BA program is primarily delivered via lecture and tutorial classes. The tutorials are highly interactive and increasingly student-led in at higher levels. In the second and third years, large lecture classes become less common and smaller seminar style classes take their place. Assessment is initially through short coursework assignments and examinations. At higher levels your own written work is weighted much more heavily, and you will undertake a 10,000 word dissertation in your final year.
