    Course Summary

    A Physiotherapy BSc from St George’s University London will help you join together disciplines like health promotion, electro-physical modality, exercise therapy, physiology and the anatomy of movement. As a practicing physiotherapist, you’ll be able to understand, assess and treat the complaints and illnesses of your patients.

    This course is delivered in partnership between St George’s and Kingston University, by the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences.     Course Outline

    Year 1

    Your first year is exclusively university based. You’ll take many of the same classes as medical, biomedical science and radiology students and learn important team building skills.

    Taught Modules:

    • Assessment, Structure and Function
    • Factors Influencing Professional Practice
    • Inter-Professional Foundation Programme
    • Pathology, Health Promotion and Rehabilitation

    Year 2

    Beginning with year 2, you’ll also have clinical practice and placement sessions. In these, specialist clinicians will showmyou how to manage patients’ rehabilitations. 

    Taught Modules:

    • Integrating Clinical Concepts
    • Management of Complex Cardiorespiratory Dysfunction
    • Management of Neuromusculoskeletal Dysfunction
    • Neurological Rehabilitation
    • Research Methods

    Clinical Placements:

    • Three separate five-week clinical and practical placements

    Year 3

    In addition to taught modules and a range of more independent clinical and practical placements, you’ll undertake a comprehensive research project in year 3.

    Clinical Placement:

    • Three separate five-week clinical and practical placements

    Learning & Teaching

    You’ll experience classroom based learning, explore in depth case studies, conduct project work and simulated practical sessions. In time you’ll undertake actual, patient-facing clinical placements. These will be in a variety of hospital and community settings, giving you a deep understanding of the people you’ll be helping. You will have the support of a personal tutor throughout all three years, as well as the learning resources of two major London universities.

    Career Possiblities

    On successful completion of this program, you’ll be eligible for professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and may join the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. It qualifies you to take on a wide range of roles in private practice and with the NHS. Many graduates find themselves working n multidisciplinary medical teams in sports and leisure facilities, specialist rehabilitation centres, stroke recovery units, intensive care settings or providing mental health care.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 3 year BSc degree.

    Applicants must typically have achieved 3 A Levels at ABB or higher, which may not include General Studies or Key Skills. Other accepted qualifications can be found here.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English. This can be demonstrated with an IELTS score of 7.0 overall, 7.0 in Writing and Speaking, and no less than 6.5 in any other module.
