    Course Summary

An MSc in Accounting and Finance from Teesside University is an excellent way to secure for yourself the advanced skills, knowledge and business strategy concepts that you’ll need to rise to a responsible, leadership or management level in any number of large organisations across the UK or abroad. Alternatively, it can give you the skills you need to begin your own business, offering accountancy or business consultation services to clients in a wide range of sectors and industries.

You’ll learn to use cutting edge financial techniques and your own business skills to the benefit of particular organisations, rather than the more typical focus of such courses – the mathematical modelling and prediction of financial markets. You’ll learn how to develop new accounting systems for bespoke use, and to apply them on the local, national and international levels.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
