    Course Summary

Psychologists explore what makes people and animals think and act – our behaviour, our motivations, our feelings and all of the things that influence what we do and the way we do it. They look at the neurological basis for behaviour as well as studying thought from a cognitive perspective in order to make sense of all the mechanisms which underlie the human experience.

You’ll learn how psychologists can help people living with mental health conditions, how they can make the educational process more effective and fulfilling,     how they can help police detect and apprehend offenders, and even how they can make day to day working life better for people of all kinds.

Teesside University’s BSc degree in Psychology emphasises rigorous research and analysis as well as careful experimental design. As a result, it id fully accredited by the British Psychological Society, and is an important step towards Chartered Psychologist status.
